The Role of a Man in a Marriage part 3

“But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”
1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV
“For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.”
Ephesians 5:29 NKJV
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.”
1 Corinthians 11:7 NKJV
“Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.”
Ephesians 4:8 NKJV
As a man you need to get this fact settled in your mind. “It is my job to provide for my wife and my family.” It is not the government's job. It's not your parents' job. It is your job and God requires this of you. As a man you should strive to allow your wife to be at home with the children especially while they are young. In order to make that happen financially, it may require long hours, overtime, and a Saturday here and there. You might say, “well I'll have to give up a lot to do that.” YES! We are to love like Christ who laid His life down for the church. Get out of bed, put your boots on, and get to work! Use the mind of Christ and achieve prosperity for your family. The Bible says that Husbands are to love their wives by nourishing and cherishing them. If you are a man, stop being frugal with your wife. This is not the attitude of Christ. Does your wife wish to get her hair done? Does your wife long to have a professional manicure? Why have you not made this happen? Cherish and nourish your wife. Husbands, your wives are a reflection of you. I heard a story of a man who asked his brother in the Lord, “what kind of Christian is brother Smith over there?” His friend replied, “I don't know, I haven't met his wife yet.” A man's wife will tell you all you need to know about a man. A man can wear a suit, smile and act religious, but if his wife and children look miserable and as if they have been drug through the mud, then there is a major problem! Your wife is a reflection of you. Bless her and deck her out to the best of your ability. God said, “they will see you are a people claimed by the Lord and stand in awe of you.” Make the world see your wife and see that she is a woman claimed by a man who is in covenant with the most high God!
