“He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”
(Luke 19:12-13 KJV)
“After he was crowned king, he returned and called in the servants to whom he had given the money. He wanted to find out what their profits were. 16 The first servant reported, ‘Master, I invested your money and made ten times the original amount!’ 17 “‘Well done!’ the king exclaimed. ‘You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.’ 18 “The next servant reported, ‘Master, I invested your money and made five times the original amount.’ 19 “‘Well done!’ the king said. ‘You will be governor over five cities.’
(Luke 19:15-19 NLT)
Most Christians have the “bug out bag” mindset. The world is too dark. The government is out to get them. We need to crawl into a hole and wait for the return of Christ. In Luke 19, Jesus told a parable where he described a ruler who was crowned king and was heading to a distant land. This ruler called three servants together and gave them different talents with the instruction “occupy until I come.” This parable was obviously a metaphor for the ascension of Jesus to the throne of God. He ascended into heaven and gave gifts unto men and he is coming back. So we live in the period of time where he gave the instruction “occupy until I come.” What does this mean? To occupy means to do business and to buy, sell, and trade. This means that the age we live in is not for crawling in a hole, it is for buying, selling, and trading! This is the time to FLOURISH in business. Later in the passage when the king returns, we see that two of the three servants multiplied their talents during the period that the king was gone. What does this tell us? This is not a time to bury our heads in the sand, this is a time for exponential multiplication. God has anointed you to multiply. Quit living as an inferior citizen to the devil's agenda and begin to take hold of the word of God. Buy, sell, trade, occupy, and multiply!
