Take What Is In Your Hand And Get Moving

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.” ‭‭

Exodus‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are three main categories of Christians when it comes to prayer. One, unfortunately many “Christians” do not even pray. They have no communion with God. It would not be a shock if they met Jesus in heaven and He said, “I never even knew you.” Two, many Christians pray but don't understand prayer. They groan and moan religiously thinking that God is moved by their theatrical performance. They pray and have no expectancy. Jesus taught in John 14, 15, and 16 that we could ask using His name and we would absolutely receive what we ask for. The Bible actually guarantees that your prayers and faith will be answered! They will pace around the sanctuary for hours praying for “sister so and so” that God would heal her in her body. Only to end the prayer with “if it be your will Lord,” having no concept of the unchanging will of God written in black, white, and red. Then, you have the Christians who know how to release the power of God through prayer and believe for immediate results! In the passage above, you see Moses crying out to God to help him. God responds to Moses in the same way that He is still responding to believers today. “Why are you crying to me?” God had already given Moses the rod, in the same way, God has already given us His unchanging word. He said, “take what I gave you and get moving!” You don't have to pray about something God has already decreed. You move forward in faith and use God's word like the staff of Moses to part every red sea, to move every mountain, and to possess every promise given to us by the Lord!
